City Hall
The building that houses the municipal headquarters was built in the second half of the eighteenth century.It belonged to the Gilgossi family, who held administrative positions in the country and had economic interests linked to the silk trade. After the French period the building passed through several hands, presumably to real estate speculation; among its owners figured the Canosio Alessi and the Reyneri which transfer it to the City in 1844 establishing its headquarters there, the archives, prisons and classrooms. Until then, the town hall was housed in a small building adjacent to the Brotherhood of San giovanni Decollato. On the first floor of the building is interesting decoration of the Council Hall, due to the thirties of the nineteenth century, probably commissioned by a member of Reyneri family. In this composition, the late Empire style, decided to stand ramages character, sphinxes, flowers and other nature motifs. The taste of this decoration is linked to the great decoration conducted in the same year within the halls of the Castle of Costa carrucese accounts. In the City Council nineteenth-century hall, the vault was decorated by Luigi Borra, carrucese artist, in the late nineteenth century. At the center of the ceiling stands an eagle with the shield of Savoy, at the sides are reproduced the coats of arms of the municipalities of Clavesana, Magliano Alpi and Piozzo. Interestingly the staircase, referring to the second half of the eighteenth century, characterized by a sober stucco decoration.
